Heat Advisory Prompts Acton to Share Cooling Tips

ACTON — Acton spent Friday under a National Weather Service heat advisory that ran until 7 p.m., prompting the town to circulate guidance on how residents could stay safe as temperatures and humidity climbed.

TOWN HALL

The town's News Flash service posted "Options to Beat the Heat the Next Few Days," flagging the National Weather Service advisory in effect through 7 p.m. Friday and directing residents to the town's guidance for the day and the days that followed. The alert arrived as the latest in a string of hot, humid stretches this summer, and it served as the day's most direct piece of municipal communication to residents.

On Tuesday, August 11, henna artist Jamilah will lead an evening session in the Grady Room combining a history and tradition presentation with individually applied henna designs; registration opens online ahead of the 6 p.m. start.
