School Committee · Meeting of January 8, 2026

ACTON — The Acton-Boxborough Regional School Committee postponed its vote on reorganizing the district's elementary schools and voted to terminate a stalled solar deal. The committee heard more than three hours of public comment on two remaining options: Option 4, which would close Conant Elementary and redistribute about 349 students, and Option 5v2, which would consolidate six elementary schools into three grade-banded buildings. Connections program teacher Lindsay Entwistle said "it has become evidently clear that there has been a lack of transparency," after learning the Connections program would move to Boardwalk under either option.

CPAC co-chair Amanda Bailey urged the board to pair Option 5v2 with geographic enrollment. The committee voted unanimously to terminate its solar battery storage agreement with NexAmp and approved its December 18 minutes and consent agenda. A final vote on reorganization and enrollment is set for January 22.
