ACTON — The Acton Select Board voted unanimously to reject claims it violated open meeting law over a fireworks funding dispute. Town Counsel Nina Pickering-Cook told the board its December 15 notice, "discuss potential change to July 4th fireworks celebration," met state requirements even without listing a possible vote, citing an Attorney General's Office ruling. Separately, about 40 Taylor Road neighbors, led by resident Renee Prezina, asked the board to acquire land bordering the Acton Arboretum before it could be developed.
