Select Board · Meeting of January 12, 2026

Acton's Select Board approved $83,450 for Town Hall weatherization upgrades after hearing the town's first annual sustainability report. Sustainability Director Andrea Becerra and analyst Lauren West said Acton's 2024 greenhouse gas inventory showed a "24.6 percent reduction in emissions since the baseline" set in 2017, with stationary energy still the largest source at 52 percent. Vice Chair David Martin said the weatherization work would cut energy costs "5 to 10 percent." Separately, Economic Development Director Patricia Costa and Planning Director Kayla Sauer presented zoning changes to ease signage, restaurant-seating and industrial-use rules, which Costa said "will benefit enormously the businesses in Acton." The board also approved a common victualer's license for New York Bagel Factory at 145 Great Road and heard a draft fiscal year 2027 budget proposing a 3.25 percent spending increase.
