School Committee · Meeting of May 7, 2026

Acton-Boxborough Regional High School earned a 10-year reaccreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Principal Joni Dean told the School Committee the two-year review pushed the school to cut unlocked entry doors from 26 to two and reduce class cuts by 42 percent, calling the process "a really great collaborative effort." The committee also took a first read of an updated attendance policy defining chronic absenteeism as missing 10 percent or more of school days, presented by Jen Faber and Heather Stauk, who said "there's a story behind every single student." Draft enrollment and transportation procedures head to a second read and possible vote May 21. The consent agenda, including fiscal warrants, passed with member Ben abstaining.

Staff reported the district has spent 95.62 percent of its budget with roughly $1 million in extra anticipated revenue.
