Select Board · Meeting of June 15, 2026

ACTON — The Acton Select Board accepted a deed for 46 Taylor Road, growing the Acton Arboretum, and approved FY2027 rate hikes. The Acton Conservation Trust delivered $116,620 from 103 donors toward the $1.4 million purchase, its treasurer calling it "a clear reflection of how much the Arboretum means to everyone." The board unanimously approved a 4.5 percent sewer rate increase and a 10 percent ambulance rate increase, the latter raising ALS-1 runs to $2,909. In a 3-2 vote, the board approved a contested Primrose Franchising Company child care site plan at 457 Massachusetts Avenue over zoning objections from member Dean Charter, who argued the project required "massive deviations" from residential zoning limits; member Francesca Arsenault said the applicant was "using the Dover amendment as a shield to avoid accountability" but voted against denial given existing precedent.

The board also received a fire department deployment pilot study recommending added staffing.
