Finance Committee · Meeting of May 26, 2026

ACTON — The Acton Finance Committee voted to form a new subcommittee to produce a five- to 10-year financial forecast for the town. Fred Loeffler and Scott Sullivan will serve as members, Alex Lenz as chair, and Jason Cole as alternate, with the panel's work sunsetting December 31, 2026. The committee's chair said the goal is to help the town anticipate or avoid a tax override, noting "the charge of the Finance Committee is to advise on all things financial, not to go auditing the books of the town." Member Scott Sullivan said this summer's roughly 10 interns will study Acton's vacant storefronts amid competition from Concord's planned MCI Concord redevelopment and incentive-driven business departures to Burlington.

A liaison reported the School Committee will hear from three superintendent search firms June 4 at 6:30 p.m.
